If you don’t like to come out of the (Linux) “shell” and enjoy playing with web servers, this opening is for you!
Minimum Requirements:
- You must know Linux very well. We don’t expect you to memorize all the commands though!
- You must know FTP/phpMyAdmin very well.
- You must know how DNS works.
- You must know Apache very well. Knowledge of .htaccess, virtual-hosts is mandatory.
- You must know shell scripting and the basics of Linux cron.
- You must be able to tell us the difference between symbols: # (hash) and $ (dollar)
Your chances are high…
- If you know how to move sites using SSH/SCP/Rsync.
- If you know about Nginx configuration.
- If you have ever played with rsnapshot.
If you know any one of the skills from above, this job is all yours!
What you will be doing at rtCamp:
- In the first week, your Linux skill will be polished. You will be given hypothetical problems and test environment to work on.
- Once you prove your command, you will be given an opportunity to work on real-world problems.
- If you are interested in Nginx, you will be given full-fledged training on Nginx.
- At rtCamp, you will be free to start your day from Google reader, facebook, twitter. We are all social animals here.
- You will be encouraged to post about your work and discoveries online in open-source, in the company’s paid time.
