The month of May was full of events and updates that are worth sharing with you all. Let’s take a quick recap of how our month went.
Releases 🚀
WordPress 5.2 ‘Jaco’ 🙂
The latest version of WordPress – ‘Jaco’ was released this month. We had five rtCampers adding their names to the list of contributors making this the 17th consecutive WordPress major release with contribution from rtCampers. We applauded their efforts with a customary cake-cutting ceremony and a photo session.
EasyEngine ⚙️
This month, we released EasyEngine v4.0.13 and v4.0.14. These releases come with optimized configuration of NGINX, PHP, and MySQL which will help your site’s performance.
rtMedia 🎬
We had an update for our rtMedia premium add-on. This update is for rtMedia Custom Attribute which has some UI/UX fixes and some fixes for shortcode. Check out the fixes and updates for the add-on here.
Events 🎉
Splice Beta 🖊️
rtCamp CEO Rahul Bansal and Anand Natarajan, Director – Sales at WordPress.com VIP attended Splice Beta media festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This was a media festival that celebrated media startups. The three-day event was quite informative with speakers from the media industry, across Asia, joined in to discuss the future of media startups and journalism.
React Meetup 🤝
We organized a React workshop, at our office premises, in the first week of May. rtCamper Imran Sayed was the host of the meetup where he taught the core concepts and real-world applications of React.
Want to learn more about React? The next edition of this workshop will be held in June where Imran will teach you how to use React with WordPress.
WordSesh 🎤
rtCamper Rahul Bansal shared his thoughts on how to Sell WordPress to Enterprises, at WordSesh. He talked about the common concerns that enterprises face with regards to WordPress and gave an insight into the important aspects of the sales process.
WordPress turns 16! 🎂
WordPress turned 16 years old in May and we celebrated this occasion with a delicious cake and a WordPress quiz. We’d like to thank the Pune WordPress Meetup group for giving us the opportunity to host this event.
Upcoming Events 🗓️
WordCamp Europe 🇩🇪
We are gearing up for WordCamp Europe which is going to be held in Berlin, Germany, in June. rtCamper Rahul Bansal will be attending the event and will be sharing his thoughts on how to set the right ‘price’ in his talk – Art of Pricing.
We are also excited to see our project EasyEngine being featured in a talk – Deploying a WordPress web server in minutes by George Gkouvousis.
GatsbyJS Montréal Meetup 🤝
We also have one of the newest rtCamper Muhammad Muhsin who will be attending (remotely) the GatsbyJS Meetup. Muhammad will be introducing the concept of Gatsby and how to use Gatsby with WordPress.
