The third edition of WordCamp Ahmedabad took place last weekend and we had around 20 rtCampers attending the event. We reached there a day before as we were hosting an event about careers in open source.

We were proud to sponsor WordCamp Ahmedabad and we had rtCamper Imran Sayed speaking at the event. Imran shared his thoughts on Progressive Web Apps and how to leverage its features with WordPress.

During the course of the event, we interacted with a lot of community folks, met old friends and made some new friends as well. Our sponsor’s booth was packed with a mixed crowd of students, working professionals and business owners approaching us with their WordPress queries, remote job inquiries, discussions, feedback, and more.

rtCamper Maitreyie Chavan was a first-time volunteer at this WordCamp. She had a great experience and handled many things ranging from managing the swag counter with other volunteers to helping out the sponsors.

Imran’s talk on PWA

rtCamper Imran attended WordCamp Ahmedabad for the first time and he shared that his experience was amazing. The organizing team was really welcoming and friendly.

Imran’s talk was also the first talk in the morning so people were charged up and excited which made the session quite interactive.

The audience got to understand how PWAs can provide a better user experience for their WordPress sites with features like offline caching and background sync. The session was followed by a gainful QnA round. Here are the slides. You can watch the video below:

Having fun!

There were a few rtCampers who were visiting the city for the first time. So, the remote rtCampers based in Gujarat helped them in exploring the city. Our team also visited the Karnavati Club, thanks to our mentor Vatsal Shah who treated all rtCampers with some delicious Gujarati food.

Kudos to the WordCamp Ahmedabad team

We would like to extend a big thanks to the organizers and volunteers of WordCamp Ahmedabad. The entire event went smoothly and the proceedings were carried out without any technical obstacles. Version 3 of this WordCamp was a very positive experience and we also had a great time at the afterparty. 🎉
