Empowering Pasqal’s next phase of innovation with a faster, more agile, and accessible digital platform
About Pasqal
Pasqal, a French pioneer in quantum computing since 2019, has been translating groundbreaking science into tangible industrial value for its clients. With its expanding global footprint, Pasqal’s marketing team saw the need for a more agile and user-friendly digital platform that would match the pace of their innovation and scale with it.
Why Pasqal almost left WordPress and what changed their mind
Pasqal’s digital platform challenges didn’t start with WordPress. Initially, they migrated from Webflow to WordPress in search of a CMS that could support their growing business needs. On Webflow, the marketing team struggled with basic content updates. Even small changes like editing the organization chart were difficult to manage internally. As their global presence expanded, these limitations became more noticeable. The team needed a platform that allowed them to create new pages quickly, launch marketing campaigns independently, and integrate seamlessly with tools like Salesforce.
However, their first WordPress implementation didn’t meet those expectations. The previous implementation added unnecessary technical complexity. While the setup was developer-friendly, it made content management harder for the marketing team.
They couldn’t update landing pages, headers, or even forms without involving developers. Instead of gaining flexibility, they ended up feeling stuck facing the same publishing delays they were trying to escape.
By the time Pasqal reached out to rtCamp, they were considering leaving WordPress altogether. From their perspective, the platform had already failed to deliver on its promise of agility and ease of use.
That’s where our engagement began with consultation, not code. Rather than jumping straight into technical solutions, rtCamp took the time to understand what Pasqal really needed from their digital platform. Through detailed walkthroughs and live demos, we showed their team what WordPress could look like with the right editorial workflows and a modular, block-based design system. They saw how their marketing team could easily create new pages, manage content, and update design elements without relying on developers.
This consultative approach led by demos was crucial in rebuilding Pasqal’s confidence in WordPress as a platform and establishing a clear roadmap for transforming their web content management. With that clarity, they decided to move ahead with rtCamp to build a better, more usable platform.
With the strategy aligned, it was time to build the platform that would deliver the agility and control Pasqal’s marketing team had been missing.
Building a foundation for scale with WordPress VIP
Although Pasqal’s website was already built on WordPress, the previous implementation used Bedrock, a developer-oriented setup that complicated content management and created technical dependencies. The overall architecture added unnecessary complexity, slowing down day-to-day publishing and content updates. Pasqal needed a more streamlined and accessible platform that would allow their team to stay focused on communicating their innovation rather than struggling with backend complexities.
Migrating from Bedrock to a more intuitive system required a hybrid approach. With nearly 1,000 posts, many containing intricate ACF field structures, a combined scripted bulk migration and manual handling of edge cases was necessary. The migration also provided an opportunity to clean up the database, removing legacy code and unnecessary data and leaving Pasqal with a leaner, faster site.
To support ongoing publishing during the transition, rtCamp adopted a collaborative update strategy, minimizing any disruption to Pasqal’s publishing schedule.
Maintaining Pasqal’s search performance was a top priority. As part of the migration, rtCamp ensured that SEO metadata and valuable posts were seamlessly carried over. By following SEO best practices and focusing on a performance-first WordPress setup, Pasqal’s Core Web Vitals score improved significantly, jumping from 66 to 90.
The result: a faster, more responsive site, now running on WordPress VIP, that offers a significantly improved experience for users exploring Pasqal’s cutting-edge technology.

Addressing the need for greater agility in content management
To remove the barriers that had frustrated Pasqal across multiple platforms, rtCamp implemented a modular redesign using the Gutenberg Block Editor. The redesign with rich, custom-designed blocks tailored to Pasqal’s brand and content needs gave the marketing team full creative control, allowing them to spin up landing pages and promotions quickly, accelerating their time-to-market while significantly reducing their dependence on developers. The new custom block theme also gave Pasqal’s marketing team greater flexibility, enabling them to edit key elements like headers, footers, and templates independently.
This newfound agility enabled Pasqal to communicate its ideas much faster and more effectively.
Enhancing user experience through design refinements to match Pasqal’s global reach
Pasqal’s existing website also faced usability challenges. The homepage navigation and mega-menu structure weren’t intuitive, making it harder for visitors to explore content and resources.
Through close collaboration with Pasqal, rtCamp reimagined the user experience. A redesigned mega-menu with stronger visual contrast improved site navigation, making it more accessible to Pasqal’s global audience.

Several key pages were restructured and redesigned, including the leadership section, blog listing, and an entirely new FAQ page, strengthening the site’s overall information architecture and user flow.

These design enhancements, along with new filtering options and adherence to accessibility (a11y) and internationalization (i18n) standards, made the site more engaging, inclusive, and easier to navigate.
Turning the website into a smarter marketing platform
To strengthen lead capture and provide better insights for marketing, rtCamp replaced Pardot iframe forms with the more flexible Gravity Forms plugin, directly integrated with Pasqal’s Salesforce CRM.
This change unlocked more powerful tracking and nurturing capabilities, helping Pasqal’s sales and marketing teams work smarter.
Additionally, the implementation of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) gave Pasqal deeper insights into user behavior, informing their future marketing strategies.
