WordPress 6.6 features & updates
If a plugin update causes any issues, WordPress could revert to the previous version with its rollback feature. On the Site Editor, Synced Pattern Overrides enable the selective modification of content on patterns applied across various pages. Data Views offer a glance at all pages, templates, and template parts. Users can now mix and match typography and color palettes on style variations.
Gutenberg editor gets updated with several enhancements. The new Grid block allows for arranging layouts in grid patterns. An option is added to set negative margins in block dimensions. The featured image button and the option to add excerpts have been moved to the top of the panel. Under the hood, WordPress gets upgraded with React 18.3, theme.json 3, and updates to the Interactivity API include Preact Devtools integration. Support for PHP 7.0 and 7.1 has been discontinued.
