Explore WordPress 6.3 Features and Enhancements

WordPress 6.3 introduces a new Command Palette to navigate and run different WordPress commands to access settings and posts within Site Editor. A Command Palette API has also been introduced, which offers third-party developers to register or unregister commands.

With the 6.3 release, you can create, publish, edit, and browse pages within Site Editor. The options such as Navigation, Styles, Pages, Templates, and Patterns are now available in Site Editor. Along with this, you can also create and manage all site patterns directly from the Site editor. All the options available in the Post Editor are now available in the Site Editor. And once any pattern is changed, it will be reflected everywhere. This should save a lot of time while editing the website, as changes can be made without leaving the Site Editor. Even the navigation menus can now be handled with a section on the left.

The new release offers a way to manage and create Patterns directly from the Site Editor. Reusable blocks will now be replaced by synced patterns. This will allow changes made to one pattern to be reflected everywhere on the website.

The Style Revision feature, a part of the 6.3 release, offers a visual timeline of the website with just a click. It will now be possible to preview all the changes and revert to specific ones.

This release also includes performance enhancements, reverting to previously installed versions, accessibility updates and improvements to internationalization. Please note that support for PHP5 is being dropped with this release.

Please refer to the release notes and field guide on WordPress.org’s official website for in-depth details on this release.
